At CASA, we use:
1- Social behavior change communication (SBCC) in the context of gender, climate, and conflict to empower women and marginalized communities and create pathways for socioeconomic advancement and resilience.
and
2—Communication for Development (C4D) to address the very complex issues of gender inequality, climate change, and conflict and how they intersect with women's socioeconomic empowerment.
By strategically using SBCC and C4D to amplify women's voices and experiences, we drive a more inclusive development agenda that promotes social justice and equitable opportunities for all.
Particularly, G-SPOT used SBCC and C4D to:
-
Through working with Governments and NGOs to invest in and support projects that are led by women in communities vulnerable to climate change. We co-fund, co-train, and resource women to lead initiatives focused on sustainable practices, such as farming, water conservation, and renewable energy.
-
By including gender analyses in climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies.
-
Through co-localised initiatives that train women in skills that promote economic independence, such as entrepreneurship or vocational training, and foster collaborations with local businesses to create job opportunities for women in conflict-affected areas.
-
By advocating for co-localised initiatives that leverage technology to provide education on climate change, gender equality, and conflict resolution through online platforms.
-
By using our media platforms to advocate for the review and strengthening of legal frameworks that protect women's rights in relation to land ownership, climate resilience, and conflict, especially in conflict-affected areas.
-
By advocating for co-localised initiatives that enhance community support networks that provide resources for women affected by climate change and conflict. The initiatives include peer support groups, mentorship programs, and enhanced access to mental health resources.
